0.0.17-Alpha Released (should fix OS 2.2.0 issue)

I’ve investigated what happened following the Playdate 2.2.0 OS update and there seems to be some low-level corruption of any installed Modular Play version during the update process (that’s a guess, I’m not 100% sure). The easiest and quickest way to get everyone back up and running is to change the app bundleId from orllewin.playdate.modularplay to orllewin.playdate.modularplayer. This means when you install 0.0.17-Alpha you’ll end up with two versions of Modular Play on your Playdate.

If you have patches and samples you want to save you can put your Playdate into Mass Storage Mode and copy them from Data/orllewin.playdate.modularplay to your computer, then copy them back to Data/orllewin.playdate.modularplayer after install.

Upgrade your Playdate to 2.2.0 before installig this version.

Rushing this release does however mean the Granular module is now available. It’s not perfect, but is very usable and produces really nice audio. The biggest issue is it might crash if you change the sample after the first time. Obviously I’d prefer to have fixed that but the 2.2.0 issue forced my hand.

There’s also a ‘Sampler’ preset, you’ll want to use that first (or make your own similar patch!) to get audio onto the Playdate first (before you save from the sampler patch hit ‘B’ in empty space to zoom out - the file save dialog doesn’t display properly when zoomed in)
